Work Ethics
Distinguish Between Ethical and Unethical Conduct in their Professional Lives
In my business ethics class we were tasked with conducting a stakeholder analysis for a business of our choosing. I used Pepsico for my analysis as upon research I discovered like most companies they faced ethical dilemmas. Pepsico is a large corporation and it is important that the CEO ensures that all products are being produced ethically. I was able to analyze the market and compare Pepsico overall performance in the eyes of stakeholders.
Here's What I've done
Here is What it Means to Me
Being ethical is extremely important because it leads to good business practices. There are situation where laws do not align with ethics. This is where ethical dilemmas come in place. But, as an HR representative I must do my best to find a common ground between following the law (must do), and making and individual satisfied. Competition look for you weakness and that is why it is important to see how your competitors are ethically and legally supporting their employees. You want to retain and obtain good workers.
Staying with legal guidelines and being ethical will allow me to convince employees on why they should stay with the organization. My current employer conducts various surveys for employees and managers in order to determine why the organization and HR can do to improve quality. I believe these efforts are very effective and will allow for extreme improvements. Understanding ethics allows me to answer customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
