s.w.o.t

Based on my current and previous work experience, I have conducted a SWOT on myself with the hope of being fully transparent with current and future employers.

Strengths

My biggest strength is problem solving ability along with my will to work in a team. Working with children has allowed me to become very creative in the workplace environment. Children teach adults that things will most likely not go as plan. This has really allowed me to elevate my improvising skills. This naturally improved my team work ability as it is inevitable when working in a team that problems will arise. It is important that there is a clear leader and or guidance. I have learned that everyone doesn't need to be the leader. When in groups it is important that everyone knows there role and feels there role is important.

Weakness

My biggest weakness is taking on to many tasks. I like to feel needed in my place of work and I have found my self taking on more wore than I should. I want to show all my abilities and capabilities to my manager and supervisor. It is a skill to know when to say no at work. When you are a new employee to a department or organization you tend to want to be seen. With that it can become very easy to accept many projects because you want to prove you're a good fit. I found that I have done this and it can get overwhelming. I learn through each new experience and project the power of managing my workload by saying no or I need help.

Opportunities

In the human resource field there are lots of opportunities to expand and grow. At the agency I currently work for the HR department is huge. There are many different divisions within the department that handle different components of HR. When I started with the company I was under the talent acquisitions group. After a few months I was hired under a branch within the talent acquisitions group. The branch that i'm under handles staffing and recruitment where we create vacancies and on-board selected hires. There are lots of other departments within HR (at my agency) including DGHO (outreach), Benefits, workforce management group, division of workplace compliance, employee service group, and  payroll operations branch to name a few. There are so many different areas to learn and as an intern i have the opportunity to cross-train with many different divisions.

Threats

In the HR field there is a lot of competition. A lot of companies want to hire someone with experience in this specific field or an individual who has the SHRM certification. Seeing that I do not have a SHRM certificate and I have little experience directly in the field, I will have to sell myself to employers by promoting the things I do have that perhaps can't be taught such charisma
